Fortunately, you can leave the Planters at default size and just have a little 3x3 patch for each planter. So you need a planter for EACH of the 16 colors of sapling. I also learned that the MFR Planters can't reliably distinguish between each type of sapling (or I couldn't figure out how to set it to do so). I used to use those as my proper lumber farm as well, since each tree grows with a random wood type. And it's a cool exploratory adventure to go collect saplings from all 16 of them. For the few they aren't usable in, I think you can craft proper dyes out of them. You know, those colored, "stained" trees dotting the landscape? The saplings are usable as dyes in most, but not quite all recipes. I advise watching a YouTube video before trying to build one, if you haven't already.Īs for dyes, I recommend a tree farm from Project Red Exploration. ![]() It's got its quirks - namely breaking every 5 minutes and needing to be reset - but it's what you've got in Tekkit. ![]() That ought to take care of crafting recipes that don't require a machine. If you're into autocrafting you should have a Molecular Assembly Chamber multiblock. ![]() Not sure what kind of "shapeless crafting" tips you're looking for.
